British Hill Climb Championship 2009

The 2009 British Hill Climb Championship is kicking off on the 13th April. As always Pilbeam will have a strong showing in several of the classes.

The season will once again be covered by Brayspeed Productions. Tony Bray has been working hard throughout the winter to make sure that 2009 will have the most extensive coverage so far. Brayspeed will be attending every event showing the action and interviewing the drivers and constructors.

The British Hill Climb Championship will be aired on MOTORS TV throughout the season and can be purchased on DVD at www.brayspeed.co.uk. Many Hill Climb videos can also be seen at this site (free registration required), and don’t forget to also check out Pilbeam’s new 'media' section which will be live very soon.

Jos Goodyear (photo above), Oliver and Sandra Tomlin both have the latest specification Pilbeam on the hills. The V8 MP97’s will be roaring up and no doubt breaking records along the way. Jos Goodyear was increasingly competitive though the season and consistently finished high in the results at the later end of the season. Jos will be aiming for the top spot in the forthcoming season. Oliver and Sandra are finishing preparing their car and will be quickly getting to grips with it. Sandra in particular is hoping to re take many of the women’s records.

These leading Pilbeam’s will be supported by a myriad of cars in the 2 litre class.

Mike Tregonning’s MP88 (above) is looking particularly good before the new season, and Ash Mason will targeting the top 10, being even more competitive with a new carbon wing. To help customers of older cars, Pilbeam Racing continues to manufacture spares and components for past dated chassis.

Pilbeam are hoping to soon see the MP98 ‘Virage’ in the HillClimb Championship. Over a year of track testing and many features carried over from Pilbeam’s Le Mans cars have gone into its development.

Stewart Robb won the British Sprint Championship in 2008 and will hopefully see his success continue in 2009.

From Pilbeam Racing; good luck to all of our drivers!
