Pilbeam Virage Shows Real Pace In Testing The new Pilbeam sports racer was tested at Oulton Park last week by Lanan Racing in readiness for its début at this weekend's VdeV 4 hour race. The Virage, driven by Charlie Hollings, posted a time of 1:21.1, quickest of the day amongst the competitors preparing for next week! This was an impressive start as no setup work has yet been carried out during the very short test programme and so looks promising for the rest of the season. Charlie Hollings commented "we have a car which is potentially quick here". Owner of the new Virage, Damien Charveriat, was unable to test on Friday and is now looking forward to his first proper run in the car. A second car is under construction at the Pilbeam factory and plans are in hand for Lanan Racing to enter the Virage in selected European VdeV races. Pilbeam and Lanan are now looking forward to carrying out a development programme on the Virage when it is anticipated that the sophisticated Pilbeam software, using ChassisSim, will bring further improvements.
