MP98 Virage CN Sports Racer The latest new sports racer to arrive from Pilbeam Racing is the exciting 2 litre MP98 offering an ideal entry to the International scene with the new UK series now added to the strong French championship. The first examples of the Virage will race at Donington on 12 April with a competitive team and driver combination. Judging from the CFD research being carried out by Pilbeam in conjunction with TotalSim the downforce and drag figures promise a startling performance package which is expected to add an interesting new dimension to the excellent VdeV UK series. Totalsim Ltd are a very experienced group of CFD aerodynamicists who are adding their enthusiastic support to Pilbeam’s efforts to produce an exceptional race car for the new series. This work is greatly assisted by use of ChassisSim, a new performance simulation programme which was used last year at Le Mans and in the LMS to optimise setup in all areas.
