A new addition to our range of performance components for the Lotus Elise range, which will also fit the 340R, is unveiled here for the first time - our Stage 3 suspension package of new uprights and brakes, which are a direct replacement for the standard components when mounted on our Stage 2 wishbone replacement kit.
Please note that the standard cars's uprights will fit our Stage 2 wishbones because we supply different bearing support plates, however, the design of the Stage 3 uprights is such that they can only be used on stage 2 wishbones, not the standard items. All the components within the Stage 3 kit are designed for maximum rigidity to give the car maximum traction and predictable handling. The uprights are machined from solid billet, and at the rear also incorporate a double shear upper wishbone jaw to remove flex wherever possible. To reduce the number of components the wishbone bearing spigots mount directly into the upright machinings which also mount the AP brake kit directly. To cater for high performance use such as racing and track days the rear bearings are increased in size and the rear stub axles modified to suit. ![]() As well as wanting cars to go fast we like them to stop quickly too, and this task is trusted to a full set of AP brake discs and calipers, which are of similar specification to the current season F3 items. The discs are mounted on our own disc bells. The uprights have been designed with careful consideration for brake cooling, and around the bearing bores are a series of holes sited to pass cooling air to the inner diameter of the discs to allow the ventilated discs to work at their best. These air passage holes obviously lighten the package as well, and have been located to have minimal effect on component stiffness. We only supply the upright packages fully assembled, using new Lotus stub axles and front wheel bearings, and this way we can assure the quality a customer expects, fully factory inspected.
Obviously, for all of our suspension kits we can provide a fitting service at our factory. If a customer wants to fit the kits themselves they are welcome, but we do have a machined surface plate to give the most accurate car set-up possible, and would recommend this service to everyone.
Although we don't do engine tuning ourselves, our friends at QED (see the links page for details) can sort that side of the car for you and between us we can turn an excellent car into an incredible one! ![]() |
